Graha Sutras Course

When it comes to astrology, you can never know too much about the Planets - the Grahas. The ancient texts provide information about the Grahas in the form of Sutras. A Sutra is short and precise in its meaning, but has many, many ramifications. Sutras provide information that holds true through all time and all cultures. But the key is to understand the Sutra so as to apply the idea of it to those things of the modern world. For all these reasons, studying the Sutras is the only way to really learn the Grahas. In this class we will explore the Grahas one Sutra at a time so that you learn the full depths of the Grahas.

In this course we will very thoroughly cover about 42 different aspects of the Grahas including the five methods of pacifying the Grahas outlined by Parashara. This class will not have any event-predictive techniques. It will have detail-predictive techniques, such as learning how the Grahas make us live in a dry or wet clime, how the Grahas color our complexion and so on.

Ages of the Planets

Timing events of growth as well as timing concrete events is possible using the ages of the planets. There are two types of ages:

The Maturation Age of a Planet which is very important to analyze in the context of personal growth and periods or important changes and redirection.
The Natural Ages of the Planets which determine broad time periods and a natural age Dasa period that every clearly and easily allows the astrology to predict some of the important events in life. These ages are also very helpful to predict whether the individual will or won't have certain things in their life during the period
This is one of my favorite courses. I use these technqiues in every reading and oftentimes its what I start with. They are simple and very, very effective.

Interpreting Avasthas

Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra is unique in that it does not gives results for planets in signs or planets conjunct planets as do other inferior texts. Rather than giving cookbook interpretations as do the other texts, Brihat Parashara Hora teaches various Avasthas, or planetary conditions, that allow the astrologer to make profound interpretations for any and all planetary positions and permutations. In this course I will interpret planets in signs and planets joined and aspected by planets following the principles of the Avasthas. In this course I will cover three types of Avasthas along with all their meanings:

Jagraadadi Avasthas, the awake, sleepy and sleeping states of the planets based on there natural relationship to the sign that they are placed in.
Lajjitaadi Avasthas, by far the most important Avasthas which give amazing interpretations for every planet in every sign and every planet joined or aspected by every other planet. Lajjitaadi Avasthas are the single most important technique for interpretating planets and for predicting with planets as well. I consider Lajjitaadi one of the most important things that an astrologer can learn, so many secrets are revealed by the Lajjitaadi Avasthas. I give interpretations for every planetary possibility using Lajjitaadi Avasthas.
Deeptaadi Avasthas, the most commonly known group of Avasthas covered in most texts are explained and interpretated clearly in this course.

The course consists of over 20 hours of interpretataions: what does it mean when the Moon influences Venus, what does it mean with Saturn joins Mars, what does it mean when Saturn is in Cancer, etc. etc. This course is all you need to know to do a profound reading and with the help of the Lajjitaadi Avastha interpretations you will be able to explain people's nature and behaviour better than most practicing astrologers out there.

I consider this course a Must Study course and only wish that I had been taught this when I started studying astrology as the Avasthas principles are the core or Parashara's teachings.

One of the most common questions I get from students is about the effects of a debilitated planet, especially cancellation of debilitation and Neechabhanga Raja Yogas. Character Effects of the Grahas

In this class we will concentrate on the character determining effects of the planets and the resulting psychology of the individual.

Effects of Planets in Rasis. A conceptual method of determining the effects of the Planets in the Rasis will be taught that allows you to instantly determine the effects of any planet in any rasi, so that you dont have to remember everything by rote.

Developmental Effects of the Planets. In this class you will learn the major role that each planet has to play and how that role affects those things that the planet is influencing.

Saturn. Learn how Saturn is a person's misery and the planet that teaches happiness.

Rahu and Ketu. Learn how Rahu and Ketu indicate the evolution of the individual and how Rahu and Ketu tie in with Saturn and Mars.
